I had to watch that part of the podcast again and again. I have drilled a few pen blanks and never have I been able to do the entire thing in one go like that. Even in normal hardwood I have to back out the bit to clear the shavings. I also need to change the height of the table for each hole because my quill doesn't have the necessary travel.
