I used a shellac finish on my last quilt stand. I had a similar run that cleaned up very nicely with some gentle rubbing with denatured alcohol. The run virtually disappeared with subsequent coats. One of the great virtues of shellac is each coat dissolves into previous coats. Very nice! I used a shellac finish on my last quilt stand. The great thing about shellac is that its one of the most repairable finishes out there. Once you conquer the nuances of applying it, fixing mistakes can be a pure pleasure (when compared to varnish). Nice work man! marc Glad everything worked out man.
